The intention to produce a white wine had been in the air for quite a while. We experimented at length before finally deciding on Fiano as the most interesting of the white grapes grown in Tuscany.
The grapes are picked and sorted by hand, then gently pressed and fermented with meticulous care, as is our practice at Collazzi. The 2010 harvest yielded a very elegant, cellarable wine with rich texture and body.
It was aged on lees for several months, which resulted in its striking straw-yellow hue and unmatched complexity. Stylish and full-bodied, this is a remarkable wine.
The name Otto Muri recalls the eight walls which created the same number of terraces that together make up the vineyard.
